Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Expand
On March 20th officials broke ground to expand O’Hare International, the only airport in the United States of America that can go to all six continents. The multibillion-dollar project aims to add 10 new gates to Terminal 5 by 2021, which means that this travel hub will increase by roughly 350,000 square feet. Giving a city with a global presence a further global reach. This is only the first phase to take place of the total $8.5 billion project. It will be the airport’s first major improvement in more than 25 years. The plan includes improvements for security screening, new baggage systems, shelf service check-in kiosks, and 15 new locations for restaurants and retail. The entire project is said to be done by 2028.
