congratulations Neu-life on their new commercial kitchen!
Neu- Life Community Development just held the ribbon cutting for their new commercial kitchen! As one of last year’s Impact100 Greater Milwaukee grant winners, they chose to use the $100,000 grant to fund the new kitchen.
Impact100 Greater Milwaukee, a collaborative group of women who award transformative grants to organizations in our community. Grant applications are accepted each year in five focus areas; Arts & Culture, Education, Environment, Family, and Health & Wellness. After rigorous evaluation by Impact100 members, focus area finalists present to the full membership at the Annual Awards Celebrations. Following the presentations, members vote and the grant recipients are announced. For every 100 members, Impact100 Greater Milwaukee awards a $100,000 grant. Any remaining funds are divided among remaining finalists.
Neu-Life Community Development is dedicated to empowering children and youth with skills and strategies to make better life choices. Their new commercial kitchen will be used to teach children how to prepare their own meals and make healthy food choices. They will take advantage of the on-site garden, where children also learn how to grow their own food.
Allume Architects was excited to provided Neu-Life Community Development with pro bono design work, as described in our previous blog post. Our founder, Andrea Nemecek, is a member of Impact100.
