Construction of Phase I of updates is well underway at First Congregational! This first Phase focuses on upgrades to the historic interior of the church.
Phase I highlights include:
- Plaster repair to the historic church Sanctuary, Chancel area, entrances, and Fellowship Hall following the Secretary of Interior Standards and Preservation Brief 21
- Removal of an existing chimney to allow for a larger entry into the Fellowship Hall
- New finishes including lighting, paint, and carpet. *Historic hand-sewn wool carpet to remain in Sanctuary
Watch for further project updates, including the exterior work of Phase 2, coming later in July!
